Hello,
Google Play now requires all active developer accounts to declare whether they are a Trader or Non-trader.
If you manage your own Google Play Developer account, you must review and complete this declaration by February 1, 2027.
While many of our clients are based in the United States and Canada, this requirement may still apply to you if your apps are available in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom (UK), depending on your app’s distribution settings.
Google indicates that accounts not distributing apps in the EEA or UK may declare themselves as Non-traders. If your apps are available in these regions, you should carefully review your business activities to determine the appropriate status.
What do you need to do?
- Sign in to your Google Play Console.
- Navigate to Manage account → Account details → About you.
- Follow the instructions to declare your account-level Trader or Non-trader status.
- If applicable, confirm your trader status for each app under Monitor and improve → Policy and programs → App content.
Please note: This declaration must be completed by the owner of your Google Play Developer account. SoCast cannot complete this on your behalf.
For more information and guidance, please refer to Google Play Console Help.
Deadline: February 1, 2027. We encourage you to review your account and complete the declaration well ahead of the deadline to avoid any potential disruption to your apps.
Thanks,
The SoCast Team
