Hello,
Many of you have been reaching out regarding the Google Play Developer warning for updating your apps to API level 34 or higher. As Google states this required API update is to provide users with a safe and secure experience.
All of your SoCast Google Play apps should already be on API level 33.
You can confirm if your app is currently targeting API level 33 by doing the following:
- Log into your Google Play Developer Account
- Click into a specific app
- On the dashboard main home screen, under ‘inbox’ you will see a warning notice labeled “update your target API level…”
- Click on the notice
- Click ‘view details
- Click ‘view app bundles’
- Under ‘Target SDK’ it should say 33
- If it says anything lower than 33 (i.e 32), please forward the notice for that specific app to the support desk.
- Any app that has target 33 (or higher) is currently fine, and you do not need to reach out to us or take any action.
Based on Google’s notice we have a year from August 30, 2024 to update your app(s) to target API version 34, which we will do in the coming year.
If you have not already, please make sure all settings under Mobile App > Mobile App Automation Settings are completely filled in, and filled in correctly, as this information is what we will be pulling from when we update your app(s).
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to support@socastdigital.com
Thanks,
The SoCast Team
